Our Committees
IGWC committees are working groups that focus on ongoing needs or specialized tasks within the union.
As a rank-and-file union, all IGWC Committees are run by graduate workers and IGWC members who volunteer their time, energy, and skills to respond to the needs of our members and mission. Maintains the IGWC website and social media. Creates and supports press releases and formal correspondence within and outside of the union.

Conducts outreach to IU faculty, building relationships with and providing information to faculty and departments.

Manages finances, reimbursements, and fundraising in order to sustain the fiscal operations of the union.

Composed of three officers (Rights, External, and Internal), as well as volunteers. Addresses violations of workers’ rights, worker grievances against the employer, and internal complaints.

Develops the Department Organizers structure and empowers Department Organizers to create and uphold communication channels between members and organizers. Organizes members toward collective action.

Conducts strategic research to support the development of union activities and structure.

Organizes, coordinates, and runs social events for IGWC members.
